There has not. Support for Gst 1.0 was merged for Pidgin 3; place bets
now on whether that will happen in time for Debian 9. The last activity
on the upstream bug was a request for a backport to 2.x, 20 months ago.
(For Debian 8 seems unlikely to me.)
