Pidgin 3 is currently in pre-alpha, but hopefully it will be ready in
time for Debian 14. More discussion about this is at
https://bugs.debian.org/883214

libpurple 3 is a major API break and everything that uses it will need changes.

I'm filing this bug as RC to get it out of Testing to make it easier
to land the new Pidgin. telepathy-haze has no reverse dependencies. It
was requested to leave telepathy-haze in Debian for now at
https://bugs.debian.org/1118546
