why do you need this? This is fixed in Buster and Bullseye.

You need to cherry-pick three commits 7f53b38f456da4ea79820f74aebd008fde8d4079, 41dd54b808ff7ff468e3fbc20d0f8e69c337a8a8, and d4218e0fb12c270ac974d33d30d9b1d310cca521.
