Ola Lundqvist (opal) has requested to join your project.<br>

Hi<br>
<br>
I happened to have some free time today and a week forward so I started looking at making tigervnc a part of debian.<br>
<br>
I'm the current maintainer of tightvnc and vnc4 in Debian.<br>
<br>
What I found are that you have essentially done most things for me for a long time.<br>
<br>
So if you do not mind I'd like to join to help you to get the project as a part of Debian. My intention is to make this the main vnc package and then get rid of the really old tightvnc and vnc4 packages.<br>
<br>
Cheers<br>

Thanks for joining in!!! Also yesterday, I thought... Gosh, we have to get TigerVNC ready for Debian stretch.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>Haha! I have been thinking that since wheezy or so ;-)</div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
In the context of my new upstream activities in the Arctica Project, I am also interested in establishing a workflow of getting xserver-xorg dependent builds into Debian. Also we started a cooperation between various groups of interests to continue upstream maintenance of nx-X11 and rebase it against latest X.Org.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>Interesting.</div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
Let's do further coordination over our mailing list regarding TigerVNC.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>Ok.</div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
However, what I also thought yesterday for nx-X11 and TigerVNC alike: maybe we should drop the pkg-tigervnc-devel list and knock on the doors of the Debian X Strike Force and work under their umbrella. Thus, moving our interests more into the X Strike Force's team context.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>It is a possibility. However isn't it a risk that our discussions would be overwhelmed by the X activities? My guess is that the X.org activities are much more than this little package?</div><div><br></div><div>What I have been thinking for many many years is to actually ask X.org to include the patches that we apply... That way we do not even have to maintain it at all :-)</div><div><br></div><div>But maybe that is more for upstream to do. And of course there may be licensing issues that prevents that.</div><div><br></div><div>// Ola</div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
