Package: network-manager
Version: 0.6.4-8+b1
Followup-For: Bug #375302

I'd like to chime in with another vote for changing the default
verbosity of wpasupplicant in NetworkManager. I noticed today that under
high bandwidth conditions, my network connection seems to like to drop
out and then reconnect. I thought I'd take a look in /var/log/syslog to
see what was going on, when I was confronted by lines and lines of
wpasupplicant debug messages. Confronted with that, my curiosity died,
and I decided not to pursue what could be an actual bug further.

I do not use WPA for any connections whatsoever.

One year ago, the reasoning you gave for having a the double debug mode
on was that "NetworkManager is still a young project." A full year
later, is this still true?

Also, yes, having this double debug mode turned on can make bug reports
about WPA use more useful, but it also makes bug reports about non-WPA
connections less useful (or in some cases, like mine, simply
unreported). I'd think that the WPA usage of NetworkManager is no more
than half of the overall usage of NetworkManager, so...
