I have the same problem. The only way I am able to enable my wireless again is 
using the following receipe:

rmmod iwl3945
modprobe iwl3945
enable wireless in the network-manager applet
suspend my computer
resume
/etc/init.d/hal restart

Without the suspend and resume, hal switches the rf_kill switch on every time.

I have the same problem with both the 2.6.26 kernel and the 2.6.25 kernel.
