This is probably due to an upgrade of wpasupplicant (could you try to
downgrade wpasupplicant to confirm that).
Please also note that the 0.7.0 pre packages are not (yet) officially
available from the Debian archive. So using the BTS for (my) unofficial
packages is probably not such a good idea.
