Could you run
grep update-rc.d  /var/lib/dpkg/info/dbus.postinst

dbus should create links S12 and K88.
S20 was used in previous versions of dbus.
Why you have S50 is a mystery to me. Have you made any local
modifications (with a runlevel e.g.)?
