1. boot
keyboard works at console
running dbus processes:
4495 dbus-daemon
2. log into X via slim
keyboard does not work at console
running dbus processes:
4495 dbus-daemon
7419 dbus-launch
7420 dbus-daemon
3. kill dbus-launch
keyboard works at console
The 'hal' package isn't installed.

Actually, the password is accepted if I type really slow, holding each key an
extra-long time... but typing slow doesn't work otherwise (only for the
password prompt).
