Given that #455746 has been open for eight months with no reaction from 
its maintainers, I would prefer that it be added to cryptsetup now and 
removed later when (if) dmsetup has it added.

Obviously this is not the ideal situation, I'm just speaking as the end 
user who wants to be able to plug in his encrypted disks in Debian--just 
like he can in Ubuntu, Fedora, etc. :(
