Hi,

I'm going to reassign this bug to consolekit.
The next version of consolekit I'm going to upload (0.2.10-1) will
contain a facility to write libpam-console compatible tags, which dbus
can directly utilize with at_console.
This means, dbus doesn't have to be patched and there is no need for
libpam-foreground.

Almost all dbus services already have a group based policy (mostly using
netdev/powerdev/plugdev) *and* a at_console policy (currently missing is
hal, where I'm going to upload a updated version soonish).

That means, when you install consolekit, at_console will be used and
users no longer have to be added to the various groups.

Groups based policies will still work, and if you prefer that approach,
simply don't install consolekit.

To provide a best out-of-the-box experience for lenny, I'll request that
consolekit will be added to the various desktop tasks in tasksel.

Hope that addresses all issues.

Cheers,
Michael
