It doesn't seem to work for me. These are the steps I take to create my
encrypted partition:

 # cryptsetup luksFormat /dev/sdc
 # cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sdc silly
 # mkfs.ext3 -L silly /dev/mapper/silly
 # cryptsetup luksClose /dev/mapper/silly

Then I unplug the USB stick and plug it in again. I'm presented with a
dialogue, but the encrypted filesystem isn't mounted.

I have no problems manually mounting the filesystem.

Also, if I create a partition (say /dev/sdc1) and create an encrypted
filesystem on the partition then it's mounted as expected.

ii udev 0.125-6 /dev/ and hotplug management daemon
