Hi,
I'm pretty certain, that this is not a bug in NetworkManager.
Could you check if hal reports 2 wlan devices with the same interface.
(this can sometimes happen, when udev is restarted, so you might try to reboot
and see if this problems goes away).
Second issue is not a problem of NetworkManager either, as it takes those name
from hal, which afaik gets it from the pciutils database. (you might start
checking with lspci and then lshal).
