system installations and upgrades

static configurations (at least those that can be generated by d-i) into NM
configurations
[14:45] <Np237> or we need a hack that allows NM to simply do as if it wasn’t here
[14:46] <Np237> the first option was chosen by the Xorg people for keyboard
configuration, and it works fine
