I can confirm these problems on my side: I also have difficulties trying to connect to my college Eduroam access point.
Experiencing the same symptoms: NM sometimes asks to re-enter the login et password info (even though it is already stored in keyring), sometimes it just crashes trying to connect, and sometimes fails to connect and switch to any unsecure hotspot close by.

I'm using an Intel wifi card with iwl3945 driver.
