Hi Frank,

I agree this will be a problem for squeeze.
I'd somehow like to keep managed=false to not break the setup for users with
more complex configurations.

The approach Ubuntu took, is to comment out /e/n/i entries in a postinst
migration script, which matches
(auto,allow-hotplug) <device>
iface <device> inet dhcp

while keeping a backup file of the old configuration.

Haven't decided yet, which route to take and am open for other suggestions.
