Neither am I. autotools have broken too often in the past had had been
a huge pain. It has become much better since autoconf 1.10 and
automake 2.50, but still I don't like packages which do autoreconf at
build time for two primary reasons:

 * They are prone to break when there is a new version of auto*.

 * You upload something that you did not actually test.
