This only seems to happen on certain types of drives and/or drivers.
I also suspect that it's got something to do with whether you use the
scsi(libata) or ide (pata) subsystem to access the drive.
Could you both send me a "devkit-disks --dump", your kernel version and a lsmod
dump.
