[Pkg-utopia-maintainers] Bug#575881: generates an empty hex string in /var/lib/dbus/machine-id

I can confirm this bug:
I have installed squeeze using beta1 netinstall iso, using LVM+ext4, on my macbook pro 5,1.
I've manually entered a random 32 chars hex string in che empty machine-id file and restarted dbus.

Inspecting in /var/lib/dbus, I found an interesting thing:

Seems that the good file was moved by someone during the install process (I've used tasksel, selecting desktop environment, ssh server, laptop, standard).
