Not sure how to report this correctly - I have now fixed two machines that were broken by the
installation of avahi-daemon when it got pulled in as a suggest or recommend of another package.

The average uses won't be able to figure out what pronged his system.

avahi-daemon

Pulled in by
libnss-mdns ?

network-manager fails to work - no dhcpd -- breaks openvpn

If avahi is supposed to be the new Debian standard, there needs to be a way of blacklisting it's
installation.

I don't think it ought to run by default in systems that are using DHCPD and/or openvpn until it
learns not to overwrite routes etc.

I have no idea if it will be able to coexist with these other packages - some way of understanding
that a huge change is occurring during installation needs to be announced.
