That bug report mentions that pm-suspend-hybrid support is present in HAL,
however g-p-m now uses upower now, which does not seem to support
pm-suspend-hybrid according to a quick grep in the sources. So would not
this support at least have to be added in upower first before g-p-m can
use it?
