hi:
Dear Utopia Team, my english is poor. So, forgive my grammar problem,
thanks.
I have some problem with my netbook, and I'm not sure if this is a bug,
or if it has been reported already.
My netbook is hp mini 1017TU, use broadcom 4312 as wireless card, pci id
is 14e4:4315. Last month, at 2011-3-21, I update my debian testing and made
it broken. My kernel is linux-image-2.6.32-5-
686 2.6.32-31, and here is my update:
network-manager 0.8.1-6 -> 0.8.2-6
network-manager-gnome 0.8.1-2 -> 0.8.2-4
broadcom-sta-common 5.60.48.36-3 -> 5.100.82.38-1
broadcom-sta-source 5.60.48.36-3 -> 5.100.82.38-1
The problem is Ethernet can't auto-connect when I plug my Ethernet line,
but ifup eth0 works, and wifi can not connect to any AP, even it is
encryption off. wpa_supplicant also don't work.
With a friend's help, I find out that when I disable
/etc/init.d/network-manager, wpa_supplicant will work. So I switched to
wicd, and temporary fixed problem.
I'm not sure that is this, an bug? some error just under debian? or a
problem on my own? some guy said I should write to u to get help.
Is this a bug?
