Network-manager fails to reconnect a ZTE MF110 3G modem after the 
connection is
lost due to signal loss (for example when traveling by car). The modem 
has to be
removed from the usb port and reinserted and the device will work again 
(after a very
long settle time). No mather how many times I click on the "connect" menu,
the device won't work until performing a plug-unplug cycle.

In extreme cases reinserting the modem is not enough, and 
network-manager will
simply show the network disconnected message instantly upon pressing the 
reconnect menu. NM restart is not enough,
a full reboot is the only method I know for these cases.

This extremely similar to 
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/438150
and they seem to think it's a modemmanager problem.
This also seem similat to 
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=530269 , but it's not 
exactly the same (very different model, no reboot necessary).
