[Pkg-utopia-maintainers] Bug#444874: network-manager-openvpn: default gateway changed to tun0 without request

Package: network-manager-openvpn
Version: 0.8.1-1
Severity: normal
This very same issue still exists in the current version of this package in squeeze.
When the openvpn connection is started via a shell script, all routing is applied as it
should be, and the default gateway remains unchanged.
When the same connection is started via network-manager, the default gateway is changed
by nm, and that is ***BAD***, since it breaks the user's access to the Internet.
This renders the openvpn plugin effectively useless, as no combination of options
changes this behaviour.
For now I will revert back to using shell scripts.
Since this bug has not seen any updates or even acknowledgement from the package
maintainers, I wonder whether this will get any attention at all?
