[Pkg-utopia-maintainers] Bug#629120: network-manager: doesn't connect anymore to wireless networks

Christian Perrier bubulle at debian.org

Package: network-manager
Version: 0.8.4.0-2
Severity: normal

I'm mostly using n-m through its KDE interface. Recently (please
notice that KDE got several upgrades), it became impossible to connect
to any wireless network.

A typical example could be my home network (ESSID: amenophis). When I
configure the network through the graphical interface, everything is
OK: scanning works, I "see" this ESSID and I can configure it with its
WPA2 key. I tick the "Connect automatically" checkbox and...up to the
last 4-5 days, everything was working automagically.

However, as of now, the network doesn't appear anymore when trying to
connect to it through the graphical interface...and of course, it
doesn't connect autmatically either.

Here is what nm-says when the daemon is started:

Here, my wired lan connection is plugged, hence the dhclient running
on it. What is worryin to me are these lines about wlan0

I hesitated before reporting this bug because I'm unsure whether it
belongs to n-m or something else. But, at least, I would like to
investigate deeper. Is there something more that I could do? More
specifically, how could I check what's going on with the wireless
interface?
