[Pkg-utopia-maintainers] Bug#649127: network-manager wrongly reports "disconnected" state

network-manager, which was installed as a dependency of
other packages, always reports "State: disconnected" to
its clients, even if the machine in question always has
connectivity.  There's no other network interfaces on
this system, and the bridge is here in order to run
virtual machines (qemu/kvm)

As a result, numerous applications - like, system update
agent in gnome - reports that there's no connection and
fails to do its work (hence Severity: it breaks other
packages).
