[Pkg-utopia-maintainers] Bug#680288: network-manager-gnome: options dialog of mobile broadband can not be accessed if connection can not be established?

I recorded a screencast that shows how the bug occurs:

Steps to reproduce:
1) setup usb 3G modem and use it
2) go to "Options..." of the broadband connection and change the APN to
   something invalid.
3) unplug and replug the modem
4) Try to go to the "Options..." to fix the APN.

Expected results:
4) The "Options..." dialog can be accessed and the mistake made by the
   user in step 2) can be corrected.

Actual results:
4) The "Options..." dialog is grayed out. The user is helpless and the
   only way to fix the situation seems to be to edit /etc/ from command
   line.
