So, the issue here is that you store the connection secret in the user
keyring (in your case I assume gnome-keyring) and
gnome-keyring is automatically locked on suspend or when the screensaver
lock is activated.

I'm not sure yet, I guess this needs fixes in user session clients, like
gnome-shell and nm-applet, to monitor the keyring and (re)initiate a
connection attempt once the secret is available.

Most users won't notice that problem, since system-wide connections are
the default for WPA-PSK connections, where the secret is stored system
wide and available at all times.

In your case (eduroam is WPA-EAP iirc), the secrets are stored in the
keyring indeed.

Would you mind forwarding this bug to upstream and letting me know about
the bug report?
Otherwise I'll get to it once I have the time for it.
