I'm trying to use mdns naming accross a virtual ethernet link between
a Debian 32-bit guest and a RHEL6 64-bit host, both running 'avahi-daemon'.
Resolution with other programs also doesn't work, but I've done the most
analysis with 'avahi-resolve'. Command line...
dllamber at vmDebian:/usr/share/java$ avahi-resolve -4 -n oc3676843524.LOCAL
Failed to resolve host name 'oc3676843524.LOCAL': Timeout reached
'tcpdump' output during the first couple seconds (before the 'Timeout reached'
message appears)...
