Yes, /etc/network/interfaces only contains lo, allow-hotplug eth0 and a
tinc interface. I attached a partial screenshot that shows the active
connections and the wrong symbol.

I have gnome-shell 3.8.4-8.1.

I started upgrading to jessie and I'm currently somewhere in between. My
system is a big mixture between wheezy and jessie with a few components
from sid. I didn't notice the bug when my system was at (mostly) wheezy.
