[Pkg-utopia-maintainers] State of NM 0.9.8.8

Dear NM maintainers,

in order to debug issues with the KDE NM frontend (plasma-nm), I
recently tried the experimental versions of network-manager and
modem-manager on my system. It turned out that at least for me, they are
broken in their current state: After installing the new NM and
rebooting, I was unable to establish a wireless connection from the
frontend. plasma-nm would not even display the list of stored wireless
connections, even though NM mentioned in syslog that it loaded the
corresponding files from /etc/NetworkManager.
Now I wonder, is this expected (after all, the package is in
experimental), or are these packages actually supposed to work in their
current state? If the latter is the case, I'd be happy to help debugging
the problem, but I didn't want to file a bug without making sure it's of
any use.

Kind regards
Ralf
