Package: policykit-1-gnome
Version: 0.105-2
Followup-For: Bug #703016

Dear Maintainer,

Not appear where to put the root password when mounting partitions with
thunar or start synaptic. You also can not "shut down" or "restart"
 using the buttons on xfce.

See the answers below:

   * What led up to the situation?

The problem started after an "aptitude safe-upgrade --without-recommends".
Several packages were updated, including policykit-1 and policykit-gnome-1.
     There are no broken packages.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I'm using the terminal and doing the actions manually as root.
     (synapitic-pkexec, mount, halt, reboot etc.)
I realized that polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 fails to start,
so I related bug with policykit-1-gnome.

It may be a problem with one of the packages:
policykit-1-gnome, policykit-1, lightdm or thunar.
I specified policykit-1-gnome because the problem started after updating.
I'm a basic, but enthusiastic user of debian.
Excuse my terrible english. I am Brazilian.

I use xfce4, thunar and lightdm
