I have implemented this and submitted it upstream as part of the
user-session patchset (Martin: that's the same thing I was talking about
at FOSDEM). That dbus version is in the NEW queue for experimental.

This is enabled by installing the new dbus-user-session
package, which is part of the reason that version is in NEW.
I would welcome an ack on the upstream bug if you believe that my
approach to this issue, and to backwards compatibility for those
who want per-login-session buses, is a good one.
