True.  It's unfortunate that NM can't use the internal code only for the
cases that it supports.  (Or, better yet, add the DHCPv6 support that
now exists in the same codebase they got the DHCPv4 code from.)

Is there a bug report (upstream or in Debian) for that?

I had the impression NM just preferred dhclient on the theory that if
you enabled it at compile time, you must want to use it.  But fair
enough; this isn't urgent, and I can easily enough enable it via
NetworkManager.conf for now.

It does provide a significant improvement to network setup speed,
though.  Would you consider adding a note to NEWS.Debian suggesting that
users enable it if it works for them?
