Install network-manager-(pptp|vpnc|openvpn)-gnome, restart applet and create a new connection
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
* What was the outcome of this action?
Display only PPTP VPN connection
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Display all VPN connections: PPTP, VPNC, OpenVPN
Here is the logs I get when I manually load nm-applet:
