This didn't get into 8.4 -- could y'all PLEASE get it into 8.5?
My users are being hit catastrophically by this bug (and sometimes by the
systemd "looping" bug (789796) caused by OOMs from this bug and other OOM
conditions), These bugs and others in Jessie (rpc/nis fails under systemd,
etc) are creating a growing lack of confidence in KDE and Debian in general
(I am a vocal Debian advocate and work hard to address these types of
concerns for my users)
In lieu of this bug being fixed, i either have to modify a package owned
file, or have all users run a script to put an override version in their
HOME kde directory (powerdevil.desktop) (neither is optimal, nor desired,
especially on laptops where powerdevil is a more critical component)
( btw, Unfortunately, KDE, as distributed by Debian, maybe in kde.org,
doesn't have an /etc/kde4 path for services :-(
$ kde4-config --path services
/home/sdowdy/.kde/share/kde4/services/:/usr/share/kde4/services/
)
Thanks,
