I've talked to upstream about this, and they provided a patch which fix
the busy loop.
As I can't reproduce the problem myself, it would be great if you could
do the testing for me.
I've provided packages with the patch applied at:
https://people.debian.org/~biebl/network-manager/

Please install those packages, re-enable connectivity checking and
report back with your results.

I'm interested, if you still get this error and with what frequency.
The exact error message would be helpful. So if you can attach
(excerpts) of the log file, this would be great.
