Package: network-manager-openvpn
Version: 1.8.6-1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
Current network-manager-openvpn (or network-manager-openvpn-gnome) do not let
one import an .ovpn file which is perfectly valid, aka usable with simple
`openvpn --config` call.
For what I have tried for now I found that :
- it does not like the `<connection></connection>` parts of such a file,
- it does not support some options of the `route` command.
I guess it parses the file and do not let openvpn decide if the file is
appropriate or not.
The only usable workaround for a user is thus to start openvpn from the command
line, and thus not being able to use network manager credentials management
process (aka need to input login and password any time the VPN is started), nor
the NM status notification, nor the authorization integration (need to use
`sudo` for each start).
We should find a way to use any valid current openvpn configuration file, I do
not have the GUI programming skills however.
