   * What led up to the situation?
Enabling wifi using the applet.
Selecting add new network.. enter wifi password... refuses to connect.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
If I go under edit network I am able to select "HOTSPOT" then.. it will
recognize the network.. however it it NOT a hotspot it's a
client/infrastructure network.
It won't connect without using HOTSPOT

   * What was the outcome of this action?
I was able to connect.(hotspot mode only)

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
