[Pkg-utopia-maintainers] User Questions about avahi and CUPS

Hi,

I have some strange effects with my Lexmark C534 printer announcing
itself to the network and to the CUPS server. I would like to debug
this, but need some answers about avahi first.

I tried asking on the avahi at freedesktop.org mailing list in September
(https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/avahi/2018-September/002506.html)
but did not get any useable answer - not counting the one contribution
that said "avahi over subnet barriers will never work, what you're doing
cannot have possibly worked in the past" in obvious ignorance of
avahi-daemons reflector function...

pkg-utopia-maintainers has a very broad topic, you guys are maintaining
quite a lot of packages (doing a very good job, btw). Do you know any
place where I can get avahi explained in a why so that I can understand
why my printer is counting itself up every six or so weeks?
