This will be addressed by flatpak 1.2.5 in the next buster
point release (see #940818). It should become available soon via
buster-proposed-updates, if you want to test it early.

I'll probably do a backport eventually, but ideally using backports
shouldn't be necessary in order to use Flathub, so fixing stable is a
higher priority for me right now than maintaining backports.
