   * What led up to the situation?
I was getting incorrect battery % reporting for Logitech Performance MX and
K800 with a unifying reciever from  upower. I'm also noticing very fast battery
draining. When they used to last over a month, the batteries drain in the
matter of a day or so. It is important to note that the batteries are user-
replaceable, so there may be a calibration required to get the fully-charged
value, however that may be of use in other packages and with other hardware.
Here is a link to a forum post with another user that has the same version of
upower and the same keyboard. This is a very popular keyboard model.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
        I used upower -dump to get information on the devices. to get
information on them.
