Where do you see such a dependency and is it a problem?
dbus-python 1.2.14-1 in testing B-D on python-tap and python3-tap.
dbus-python 1.2.16-1 in sid B-D on python3-tap, only.
Can I mark this bug as closed in 1.2.16-1 or is there something I'm
not seeing?
For now I'm marking this bug as found in 1.2.14-1 so that it doesn't
prevent dbus-python from migrating, which would have the opposite of the
effect you presumably intended.
I had intended to wait for dbus-python 1.2.14-1 to migrate to testing
before uploading src:tap.py 3.0 with python-tap removed (upstream removed
support for Python 2 in that version), but Sandro Tosi did a team upload
of src:tap.py removing the python-tap binary package as soon as the
dependency had gone away in unstable, so I didn't have the opportunity
to wait for migration.
