Dear Maintainer,

I have tried to use a wifi dongle in my laptop. Networks were detected, but
connection fails with these messages in syslog

kernel: wlx0022b0e3c6b6: aborting authentication with
70:5a:9e:3a:30:18 by local choice (Reason: 3=DEAUTH_LEAVING)
wpa_supplicant[671]: wlx0022b0e3c6b6: CTRL-EVENT-SSID-TEMP-DISABLED
id=0 ssid="local_wifi" auth_failures=2 duration=20 reason=CONN_FAILED

Looking at

this problem seems to be attributed to network manager having problems with
long (e.g, wlx0022b0e3c6b6) wifi names (wicd seems not affected).
A workaround is suggested in that page, adding ad-hoc udev rules. e.g.

/etc/udev/rules.d/70_rename-wlan.rules:
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="wlan*", NAME="wlan0"

I have tested this and is working.

Not sure if problem is indeed with network-manager, but seems likely. I
think I even read somewhere that downgrading network-manager helped, but did
not keep track of the url and also I did not try the downgrade.
