Hi Allison,

thanks for your bug report.
I assume you do not consider this a regression in dosfstools, otherwise 
you'd probably have filed it against the dosfstools package.
The Debian udisks2 package is not shipping any downstream patches in 
that regard, so it would be best if you can raise this
dosfstools 4.2 incompatibility at
https://github.com/storaged-project/udisks

It's most likely that Debian won't be the only distro affected by this.

Seeing that dosfstools 4.2 has already migrated to testing, it doesn't 
really help to file an RC bug against it to prevent testing migration.
