Package: pipewire
Version: 0.3.64-4
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
The pipewire upstream troubleshooting guide suggests I look at
journalctl output as a first step in troubleshooting things. That
reveals:

I use awesomewm, which probably doesn't require xdg-desktop-portal and
therefore doesn't start it.
I think if pipewire is to be the default, it should either be able to
work without xdg-desktop-portal, or it should be able to start it itself
if it cannot do so. There are plenty of (supported!) graphical
environments in Debian that don't do that much xdg stuff.
