Package: polkitd
Severity: important
Hi,
sorry for the extremely weak bug report since I do not have access to
the machine in question any more but it should be reported anyway.
Today I upgaded some laptop I maintain for someone else from bullseye to
bookworm. I was running into exactly the same problem as dscribed here:
https://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=156286
and the suggested solution
adduser --system --group polkitd
adduser root polkitd
dpkg --configure polkitd
dpkg --configure -a
worked for me as well. It seems the lxde environment needs polkitd
which I can hardly reproduce on my own hardware since I do not use it
here. So sorry again for the weak bug report but I think this issue is
serios enough to make some noise about. With better information I
would have set severity to serious since it breaks upgrades.
Kind regards and thanks for maintaining polkitd
Andreas.
