Package: upower
Version: 1.90.9-1
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: trash at bastenhorst.de

Dear Maintainer,

System:
-------
Distribution: Debian GNU/Linux 13 (trixie)
Package: upower 1.90.9

Hardware:
---------
- Logitech Unifying Receiver (046d:c52b)
- Logitech K780 Multi-Device Wireless Keyboard
- Logitech MX Ergo Multi-Device Trackball

Both devices are paired to the same Logitech Unifying Receiver.

Problem:
--------
UPower reports both HID++ battery devices as "Logitech K780", although they are
different devices.

Output of:

    upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_hidpp_battery_0

shows:

    model: Logitech K780

and

    upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_hidpp_battery_1

also shows:

    model: Logitech K780

The second device is actually an MX Ergo.

The issue is visible in GNOME Settings as well, where both devices are
displayed as "Logitech K780".

Expected behaviour:
-------------------
Each HID++ device should use its own model name.

Kernel and udev already provide the correct information.

Evidence:
---------

udevadm for battery_0:

    POWER_SUPPLY_MODEL_NAME=K780 Multi-Device Wireless Keyboard
    POWER_SUPPLY_SERIAL_NUMBER=28-cd-e2-26

udevadm for battery_1:

    POWER_SUPPLY_MODEL_NAME=MX Ergo Multi-Device Trackball
    POWER_SUPPLY_SERIAL_NUMBER=cb-ce-c7-9e

Therefore the kernel exports the correct model names.

Additional information:
-----------------------
Solaar correctly detects both devices:

- Logitech K780
- Logitech MX Ergo

This indicates that the issue is specific to UPower rather than the kernel
HID++ driver.

It appears that UPower assigns the model name of the first Logitech HID++
device to all HID++ devices connected through the same Unifying Receiver.

Reproducible:
-------------
Always.

Steps to reproduce:
-------------------
1. Connect two different Logitech HID++ devices through a Logitech Unifying
Receiver.
2. Run:

       upower -d

   or

       upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_hidpp_battery_*

3. Observe that both devices are reported as "Logitech K780".

Expected:
---------
Each device should report its own model name (K780 and MX Ergo respectively).
