Hi!

I have a first version of the xxv package ready for testing. From what I 
could test so far, this can become the "big brother" of VDRAdmin. There 
is still a lot to do (see debian/TODO.Debian). As we haven't decided 
about the package name yet, I've not injected it to the CVS at Alioth.

Some things you should know for testing:

- the package currently needs mplayer! (it will probably have to go to 
contrib, because of this)
- xxvd.pl needs to run as root. I haven't done the security stuff yet.
- the database creation can be managed by debconf. If it fails on 
installation, you may  have to do a dpkg-reconfigure or create the 
database manually. Some proper error messages/hints for this case are on 
my todo list (see debian/TODO.Debian)
-there are no skin-packages supported - at least I haven't tested this yet

If you test this, please read the todo list. Maybe you have a good idea 
about some of the open problems.

WARNING: This is a highly unstable version! Keep it away from your kids! :-)

I've published the package only to get some helpful feedback for 
improving it. So don't use this on your productive system!
