Problems with channels.conf on DVB-S

Hello,

I have a Problem understanding a channels.conf config.

I have Lines like:
P_01:11720:hC34:S19.2E:27500:511:512:511:222
They are working totally fine with szap and xine (Don't know if they use
szap internally).
The stuff that makes my wonder is "hC34:S19.2E" but when I replace it
with "h" it won't work.
According to http://www1.digitalfernsehen.de/frequenzen/astra1.html all
the other stuff is right and with "hC34:S19.2E" it is working fine.

What's the Special Stuff there? What does it do? What does it do the
Polarization?

Sorry for bugging but I didn't find anything on the net and I really
want to know what it does.

P.S.
I a up-to-date use Debian etch 4.0R1 with no backports at all. Its a
AMD64 3000+ running 386i Software with a Pinnacle PCTV DVB-S Card.
